hi 👋, i'm emil

i'm currently a mats/anthropic fellow working on reducing existential risk from powerful ai. i also study physics in oxford, currently in my last year.

i think a lot about ai safety and ai futures. this has led me into some research. i think the world will look profoundly different in the near future.

aside from these interests, i am keen on reducing global inequality and human division, which has led me to do some other things, most recently starting the rwandan physics olympiad with some great people. i also teach physics at the african olympiad academy in rwanda from time to time.

i currently try to work on both ai safety and international development, and am still figuring out how best to do so.
